What Is The Difference Between Evaporation And Transpiration
Olivia Luz
1 evaporation is the process of the release of water into the air from open water surfaces while transpiration is the process of the release of water into the air from plants.
Evaporation and transpiration are two distinct mechanisms for loss of water into the atmosphere. This is a physiological process through which plants dispose of water. Living cells and tissues are required to carry out this process. In this process water is lost from the surface of plant parts.
It is a physical process. In the process of transpiration water is lost from plant cells. Comparatively a fast process. Transpiration is a slow process.
Evaporation transpiration this is a physical process whereby liquid water changes to form water vapour. It is a biological process. Presence of water is required for this process. 2 transpiration naturally occurs in plants while evaporation occurs when energy in the form of heat is applied to water and changes it into water vapor.
