This is the immune system.

The second line of defense is nonspecific resistance which also is considered a function of innate immunity. Nonspecific innate response pathogens that successfully cross the physical barriers are next encountered by the second line of defense. Phagocytic cells ingest and destroy all microbes that pass into body tissues. The second line of defence against pathogenic invasion is the innate immune response which has two key qualities.

A type of white blood cells called phagocytes are released. The second line of defence is also a non specific response i e. It is non specific cannot differentiate between specific microorganisms it is non adaptive produces the same response every time in other words it does not possess memory. The second line of defence is a group of cells tissues and organs that work together to protect the body.

The third line of defense is specific resistance which is considered a function of acquired immunity. The first line of defense are the physical and chemical barriers which are considered functions of innate immunity. The second line of defence is a group of cells tissues and organs that work together to protect the body. The second line of defense is mainly called the inflammatory response.

The second line of defence involves specialist cells and white blood cells such as phagotcytes macrophages neutrophils natural killer cells dendritic cells complement proteins and mast cells. There are different types of leukocytes. They will surrender the invaders and swallow them. Inflammation yes this is good.

The body s second line of defense against pathogens is the b cells. The cells involved are white blood cells leukocytes which seek out and destroy disease causing organisms or substances. It is a 3 pronged attack on any microbes that have survived the first line of defence. Phagocytes are leucocytes white blood cells that are made in the bone marrow and circulate through the circulatory and lymphatic systems however can also leave and travel to the site of pathogen entry.

Second line of defense this line of defense is activated when microbes manage to get inside the body. The response is the same for any pathogen. For example macrophages are cells derived from monocytes a type of white blood cell. What is the second line of defense against disease.
