So i m guessing the power kit bypasses the chime so power can flow all the time. Not sure how they are doing but does not always work my ring start resetting but disabling the mechanical chime in software fixed the problem. There is a pro power kit and a pro power cable. Pro power kit is used to allow ring to get power and be able to ring your mechanical chime for the mechanical chime to ring the power it s cut but ring still needs power.

The advantage of this new power kit is a resettable fuse which simply requires power to be turned off and back on to continue functioning in the event of a power trip or malfunction.
