Salary is paid to employees who possess the skills and efficiencies in completing the office work. Someone who is paid a salary is paid a fixed amount in each pay period with the total of these fixed payments over a full year summing to the amount of the salary. The main difference between salary and hourly wage is that salaries are a fixed upon payment agreed to by both the employer and employee. Wages are hourly or daily payments for work done during the working day.
It is a type of implicit cost. An annual wage is a term of your employment and that s how much you will receive for as long as you hold the same job or until the terms are renegotiated. Wages on the other hand may vary depending on hours worked and performance. The most distinct difference is the way these positions receive pay both of which have their advantages and disadvantages.
