What Is The Difference Between Reflection And Refraction
Olivia Luz
Now we learn in detail about reflection and refraction.
The change is visible when an object passes from one medium to another depending on the angle of change. Reflection is when the light goes back to the previous medium but changes direction. The phenomenon of a light beam rebounding after hitting a surface is called reflection while the bouncing back of light from its normal path is termed refraction. Refraction is the bending of light when it travels from one media to another.
The angle of incidence and angle of reflection are the same in the case of reflection. Reflection is a mirror like representation of an object s image being bounced back from another surface. The difference between reflection and refraction is that in reflection waves bounce off of a surface while in refraction those waves do not bounce back but pass through the surface which bends them and changes the speed of the waves. The basic difference between reflection and refraction is that reflection of light is the process in which light bounces back on striking the surface while refraction of light is the process in which light changes its direction as it passes from one medium to another medium.
The image of a face is reflected back from a pool of water but the light on the bottom of the pool of water is. A change of media is required for refraction to take place. Difference between reflection and refraction the direction of light rays changes when they reflect from a surface travel from one transparent medium into another or travel through a medium whose composition is continuously changing. Reflection occurs when sound waves bounce off a surface.

On the flip side refraction is when light is absorbed by the medium but the direction and speed is affected. When light travels through the different medium two phenomena happen. Basis of comparison. Refraction is a change in direction of a state or an object due to a change of its speed.
Reflection is the bouncing back of light when it strikes a smooth surface. Diffraction is the spreading of light when it passes through a narrow opening or around an object. Reflection is simply the property of a light that rebounds after hitting a surface.
