Qualitative and quantitative research techniques are used in marketi. These data types are used in a number of fields like marketing sociology business public health and so on. Quantitative data is gathered by measuring and counting. Qualitative data is collected by interviewing and observing.
Quantitative research deals with numbers and statistics while qualitative research deals with words and meanings. Quantitative methods allow you to test a hypothesis by systematically collecting and analyzing data while qualitative methods allow you to explore ideas and experiences in depth. Quantitative data is analyzed using statistical analysis while qualitative data is analyzed by grouping it in terms of meaningful categories or themes. Quantitative data can be counted measured and expressed using numbers.
On the other hand qualitative has a lot to do with the quality or the attribute of an object or a person. Qualitative data can be categorized based on traits and characteristics. Now that we got the differences out of the way let s dive into each type of data using real world examples. On the contrary quantitative data is the one that focuses on numbers and mathematical calculations and can be calculated and computed.
