The main difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions is that endothermic reactions absorb energy from the surrounding whereas exothermic reactions release energy to the surrounding. Endothermic and exothermic reactions are chemical reactions that absorb and release heat respectively. The main difference between endothermic reactions and exothermic reactions is that endothermic reaction is a type of reaction in which heat is absorbed from the surrounding while the exothermic reaction is the reaction in which heat is released into the surrounding.
Exothermic and endothermic reactions cause energy level differences and therefore differences in enthalpy δh the sum of all potential and kinetic energies. δh is positive as heat is absorbed in the endothermic reaction while in exothermic reaction δh is negative as heat is evolved. Energy is the capacity to do work. The key difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions is that endothermic reactions absorb energy from the surrounding environment whereas exothermic reactions release energy to the surrounding environment.
The terms are commonly used in the physical scien. Conversely an exothermic reaction is one in which energy is released from the system into the surroundings. The end products are stable in exothermic reactions. A popular example of an endothermic chemical reaction is photosynthesis.

The end products of endothermic reactions are less stable. On the other hand an exothermic reaction releases energy into the surrounding of the system. Exothermic reactions are reactions or processes that releases energy usually in the form of heat or light to its environment whereas endothermic reactions are reactions that require external energy usually in the form of heat for the reaction to proceed. This is due to the releasing and absorption of heat energy in the reactions respectively.
