However while some women notice the plug passing others miss it entirely. Although losing your mucus plug is commonly associated with early labor it can actually be lost at any time or even multiple times during pregnancy. Dislodging the mucus plug too early in pregnancy can present some risk so if you lose your mucus plug after sex and you re less than 37 weeks pregnant talk to your doctor right away.
