Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it proverbs 22 6. In many places in the bible the message is that parents are to train teach and instruct their children in the ways of god. So what does the bible say about children. The goal of good parenting is to produce wise children who know and honor god with their lives.
God blessed them and said to them be fruitful and increase in number. As any mother or father knows the process of raising a child is rich with emotions uncertainties joys and sorrows. Even a strong willed child needs to know that his parents love him. Discuss with them the world around them as they see it and teach them about the glory of god through everyday life.
Impress them on your children. Ephesians 6 4 says fathers do not provoke your children to anger but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the lord this means that parents can make their children become angry and bitter adults if they always deal severely with them or withhold affection. What a pleasure to have children who are wise nlt. Proverbs 22 6 nlt fathers do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them.

Children are part of god s creative plan. Being a good parent is all about raising children who will follow your example in obeying and worshiping the lord. Proverbs 23 24 shows the end result of raising children according to god s plan. Having a child is like having your heart walking around outside of your body.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one s youth. Psalm 127 3 5 behold children are a heritage from the lord the fruit of the womb a reward. Fill the earth and subdue it.
