Are there applications in the bible that could guide us as to whether a christian should donate blood or donate their organs upon their death.
On my driver s license i have an organ donor place on the back of it that tells the authorities that i have prearranged to have any. Because the life of every creature is its blood. What does the bible say about organ donation answer. Concerning the donation of an organ jesus gave us a sense of the worth of our body parts in his sermon on the mount.
The bible says i will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you ezekiel 36 26. Have you experienced this in your life. That is why i have said to the israelites you must not eat the blood of any creature because the life of every creature is its blood. Since the organ donor receives no monetary compensation the only reason for organ donation is that of helping others.
Obviously organ transplants would have been unknown in bible times. In his message he said that it would be better to have an eye or hand which leads us to sin cut off and thrown away that to have our whole body be destroyed matthew 5 29 30. We should feel free to follow christ s example and give up the perishable body to help another. The bible does however talk about another type of organ transplant and that is the new life god gives us when we come to christ.

Anyone who eats it must be cut off. The bible doesn t specifically address organ donation since this medical procedure wasn t practiced until thousands of years later. The bible does not specifically address the issue of organ transplantation. There is no scripture that speaks directly about organ donation. However there are verses that illustrate broad principles that may apply. However ideas can be gained by considering broad principles.
This would be impossible. The closest passage is lev 17 14. What the bible says. Therefore organ donation and transplantation cannot be immoral solely on the grounds that they interfere with god s natural order.
