What Does It Mean When You Have Dimples
Camila Farah
Don t you ever do that.
When there s a divide in the muscle that s right. This large muscle that exists in the side of your face is supposed to be in one piece. Even though the dimples are recognized as a sign of something beautiful they are a result of face muscle deformity. The muscle is connected to the cheek.
There is some genetic component to cheek dimples but it s not entirely clear why some people have them and other don t. When a person smiles the muscle flexes causing the dimple to appear deeper and more obvious to the naked eye. If both parents have dimples the child will likely inherit them. In particular dimples occur when a bifid or double zygomaticus major muscle exists.
The generally accepted one is that they are actually a defect in the facial muscle called zygomaticus major.
